Arsenal go down heavily at West Brom and their Champions League bid is at risk. At this stage what is Wenger’s future? Meanwhile Chelsea win again and the title is nearing.
Arsenal are once again in the news as they were heavily beaten by West Brom 3-1 and their bid for a Champions League place is very much compromised as they are 5 points behind Liverpool. But the question most Arsenal fans are making is what lies in the future especially in regards to manager Arsene Wenger.
Yesterday for the Gunners, their downfall came from the air as they conceded two indentical goals from Craig Dawson, who headed in from corners. The other goal for the Baggies came from substitute Robson-Kanu.
Chile international Alexis Sanchez scored the momentarily draw for Arsenal. Too little for a team which is in disarray.
Meantime Chelsea continue to get nearer to the title as the scored another victory at Stoke.
Goals from Willian (13′) and Cahill (87′) secured the three points after Walters from the penalty spot had equalised for the Potters.
Important win for Crystal Palace as an own goal by Deeney gave them all three points against Watford in their bid to avoid relegation.
The same can be said of Bournemouth who scored a 2-0 victory over relegation rivals Swansea to move 9 points clear over the red zone. The goals for the Cherries came from Mawson (31′ og), Afobe (72′).
What’s true is that the change in management has given Leicester new life. After qualifying for the Champions League quater–finals, the Foxes registered another 3-2 away win at West Ham to move closer to safer grounds. Mahrez (5′), Huth (7′) and Vardy (38′) scored for the champions whereas Lanzini (20′) and Ayew (63′) replied for the Hammers.
Calvert–Lewin, substitute Enner Valencia and two goals from Romelu Lukaku saw Everton demolish 10-man Hull to go fifth on equal points with Arsenal whereas the Tigers are still battling to avoid relegation.
Finally a goalless draw between Sunderland and Burnley. A draw which continues to drift the Black Cats towards the Championship.
