Nobody would have believed that the clash between Leicester City and Chelsea on Monday Night would have found the Foxes leading the Premiership with the Blues struggling seventeen points behind. But this is game is also a clash between the italian manager Claudio Ranieri and the portughese José Mourinhio who clashed on many occasions in the past. What an occasion Monday Night would be for one of them to reclaim supremacy over the other.
Monday night all eyes will be on the King Power Stadium where leaders Leicester will take on the outgoing champions Chelsea in a match which goes beyond the mere three points at hand. It’s a clash between the italian Claudio Ranieri and the portoghese José Mourinho who clashed in the past when they encountered each other in the italian Serie A.
Monday’s clash will put Ranieri and his team based on a collective of eleven individuals with no ‘prima donna’ opposed to José Mourinho side full of world class players struggling to get results in this current season. A win for Ranieri and his Leicester will give the Foxes more confidence for the approaching festive programme whereas a defeat for Chelsea and Mourinho would open up speculations on who the new manager might be before the year ends.
But day 16 of the Premiership is not just Leicester against Chelsea, another interesting game will be played at the Vitality Stadium where newcomers Bournemouth after surprising Chelsea, will take on Man. United still reeling from their elimination from the Champions League. Surely a game to be followed. Whereas the other team from Manchester the Citizens at home will take on derelict Swansea to gain three vital points to reduce the gap from the top of the table after suffering an unexpected defeat at Stoke last Saturday.
Second place Arsenal on Sunday will travel to Villa Park against bottom placed Aston Villa hoping to grab all three points to go on top awaiting the result of Monday’s night clash between Leicester and Chelsea. Alike Tottenham and Liverpool playing at home against Newcastle and West Bromwich Albion respectively will be interested spectators in their bid to close the gap with both the leaders and Arsen Wenger’s side.
Elsewhere in the Premiership Norwich will take on Everton, Crystal Palace who will take on Southampton at Sellhurst Park, West Ham at home to Stoke City and Sunderland who will take on Watford.
