Goals from Harry Kane and Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw both Tottenham and Manchester United make it through to the quarter-finals.
Following Saturday‘s upsets, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino took no chances and fielded his best team against Championship side Fulham.
And this choice paid off as Spurs dominated throughout the match with captain Harry Kane scoring a hatrick to put them through to the quarter-finals.
As already said Fulham were never a threat to Tottenham defence and only in the last minutes of the first period did they made themselves present in the Spurs box.
More complicated Manchester United‘s qualification when they came from behind to win at Blackburn.
With both Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic initially on the bench, the Red Devils went behind after 17′ play when Danny Graham put the ball past Sergio Romero.
But United got back level just 10′ later when Marcus Rashford went round the goalkeeper and slotting in from Henrikh Mkhitaryan‘s precise pass.
With the match in a deadlock, Mourinho decided it was time to put Pogba and Ibrahimovic on the pitch and the two United stars were instrumental for United advantage as the Swede collected the Frenchman pass to put the ball in the back of the net and his side into the quater-finals.
And now to the quater-finals which will see the following draws-
Chelsea v Manchester United
Middlesbrough v Huddersfield/Man City
Tottenham v Millwall
Sutton/Arsenal v Lincoln
