Sutton makes history, Leeds beaten


Non league Sutton made history when they defeated Championship side Leeds to continue on their road to glory. Manchester Utd., Fulham and Millwall all make it to the fifth round.

Undoubtedly a merited win for the National League side who dominated through out.  Leeds have to thank their Italian keeper Silvestri who kept them in the match with some outstanding saves.

Sutton‘s forward Deacon had a goal ruled out for a controversial offside in the first 45′.

The goal which wrote history for Sutton came in the 53′ when skipper Jamie Collins converted a penalty given for a foul by Cooper who was later sent off on Deacon.

Paul Doswell‘s side, 16th in England’s National League will join Lincoln in the fifth round as the two remaining non league sides in the competition.

Earlier League One side Millwall eliminated Premiership side Watford, beating them 1-0 at home with a 85′ goal from Steve Morison.

Whilst Championship side Fulham thrashed Hull City 4-1 at Craven Cottage to secure a fifth round place. Goals from Aluko, Martin, Sessegnon and Johansen secured victory for the Cottegers, whereas Goebel momentary levelled the score for the Tigers.

Finally Manchester United who were the last to qualify with a big win at Old Trafford against Championship struggling side Wigan Athletic.

Goals from Fellaini, Smalling, Mkhitaryan and Schweinsteiger gave the Red Devils a place among the last sixteen.
