Diego Costa’s goal ten minutes from time saves Chelsea from their first defeat under Antonio Conte as they fail to join City at the top.
Chelsea failed to join City at the top of the Premiership after a disappointing draw at the Liberty Stadium against Swansea.
Chelsea looked in command as they took the lead in the first 18′ when Diego Costa hammered in a loose ball to beat Fabianski.
Antonio Conte‘s boys went near to double the score on various occasions but failing to do so and some poor defending gave Francesco Guidolin‘s side the chance to turn the game on its head in three second-half minutes.
On the hour mark Swansea were awarded a penalty when Sigurdsson was tripped in the box by keeper Courtois in the attempt to stop him from scoring and the same player converted to put the Swans back in the game. The home side fans barely had the chance to catch their breath that Swansea took the lead.
Fer dispossessed Cahill with a foul and ran clear before sending the ball past Courtois into the net.
The Blues falling behind mounted a siege and finally found the equalizer with an acrobatic late second from Diego Costa who was lucky to avoid being sent off after clashing for most of the game with the Swansea‘s defenders.
A point which leaves Antonio Conte unbeaten but two points behind Man. City and having to face in succession starting Friday, Liverpool (H), Arsenal (A), Hull (A), Leicester (H) and Man. United (H) in next days of the campaign.
