Kane’s penalty kept Tottenham’s title hopes alive as the gap from Chelsea now is 9 points.
Harry Kane kept Tottenham‘s title hope alive when the Spurs managed to beat Middlesbrough at White Hart Lane, collecting their seventh successive home win.
Although not putting one of the best performances Tottenham managed to break Boro in the 58′ when they were awarded a penaly for a foul by Espinosa on Son Heung-min in the box. Kane fired in from the penalty spot to give Tottenham three important points and keep their hopes and the Premiership title race still alive.
On the other hand Middlesbrough failed again to collect any points and their position is now critical as they are just only a point away from third bottom. Altor Karanka for sure has a quite a job to try and revive his side, seeing the results of most of their rivals.
Sunday in the Premiership will see both the Manchester sides taking on relegation threat opponents. City will face Swansea at home while United will travel to Leicester to face last season’s champions. For all four teams the three points are vital one way or the other.
