Liverpool were in total command of the game with their two big summer buys Sadio Mane and Georgino Wijnaldum being a constant treat to Chelsea‘s defence, adding a second before half time with a spectacular 25-yard strike by captain Jordan Henderson.

Diego Costa‘s fifth goal of the season on the hour mark was not enough this time to give Conte any points from this game.

A big setback for Antonio Conte who saw his team lacking direction and leadership with the forced absence of captain John Terry, replaced by the latest signing David Luiz. On the other hand a big success for Jurgen Klopp who is seeing his team building more and more to his liking and after having beaten Arsenal and drawing with Tottenham, can be considered as one of the pretenders for the title race.
