Mazzarri and his Watford with a great performance sinks Man. United for their third defeat in a row and the Super One already has an urgent crisis to solve. Tottenham with a win goes third in the table.
What a day for Watford and their fans!
After thirty years of waiting, with a great performance, the Golden Boys, finally defeated Manchester United who conceded their third defeat in a row. For the Special One in the days to come, he needs to take some immediate measures to solve the enigmas in which his side has found itself especially in midfield where their biggest signing, Paul Pogba had another unanimous 90′.
Mazzarri‘s boys were undoubtedly the better side when in the first 45’ they created various chances especially with Odion Ighalo who shot wide after David de Gea dropped the ball. But before half time Watford managed to go in front when Capoue met Janmaat cross after Martial was dispossessed (foul?) to break the deadlock.
Only in the second half did the Red Devils with the best move of the match did they manage to level the score through Marcus Rashford.
But surely it was Watford‘s day as substitute Juan Zuniga, 53 seconds after coming on the pitch, hammered in to put his side back into the lead.
And completed the victory with the third goal from skipper Deeney penalty given for a foul by Fellaini on Zuniga in the box.
Meantime Tottenham obtained three points to go solitary in third place with a 1-0 victory over Sunderland, with the important coming in 59′ from Harry Kane.
Elsewhere Crystal Palace continued to add to Stoke City woes with a 4-1 victory whilst Southampton came out victorious over Swansea 1-0.
