Manager less Hull shock Champions Leicester on Day 1 of the Premiership. Diomande and Snodgrass sick the Foxes.
From the notes of ‘Nessun Dorma’ to the roar of the Tigers, Champions Leicester are shocked by newly promoted Hull City at the Kingston Communications Stadium.
Ranieri’s men were literally shocked when manager less Hull went ahead a minute into injury time before the break through a spectacular goal from Adama Diomande in collaboration with Abel Hernandez.
The champions can only blame themselves to be behind at first half after they missed several chances through Vardy twice, Mahrez and Drinkwater but managed to draw level at the start of the second period from the penalty spot taken by Algerian Mahrez, after Gray was pulled down by Davies in the box.
But the deadlock lasted only 10′ when Robert Snodgrass with a volley from outside the box found the net to put the Tigers once again in front.
Once more behind the Foxes introduced in the game Okazaki, Amerty and Ulloa but Hull defended well to produce the first shock result of the season.
With all the problems Hull showed a great spirit of companionship to pull out this shock result while Leicester looked to much sloppy especially in Mahrez and Vardy. Ranieri has some work to do to put back Leicester on the road of last season.
What is sure is that all big teams will face resistance from the so called small teams and the road to the title is full of surprises.
