Both Watford and Southampton collected all three points after defeating Middlesbrough and Burnley respectively. Wins that puts them in mid table.
Mazzarri and his Watford collected all three points by beating Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium. A win that puts them in tenth place on level points with Crystal Palace and Bournemouth and ahead of reigning champions Leicester.
The goal that decided the match came in a 54′ from a Holebas’ fine strike in a game which offered little or none.
For Middlesbrough this was their third home defeat in a row for the first time in seven years leaving them just above the bottom three on goal difference.
In the other match Southampton at the St. Mary’s Stadium cruised past Burnley with goals after the break coming from Austin who scored twice – one from the penalty spot, and Redmond.
For Burnley, Vokes pulled one back from the penalty spot but the Clarets failed to save the game.
With this win the Saints move to eight place with 12 points just a few points behind top teams the like of Chelsea, Everton and Man. United. Burnley on the other hand remain seventh in the table in the company of West Ham and Hull a point ahead of relegation zone.
