All New Year’s Eve matches in the Championship ended in a draw with the exception of QPR who collected all three points against Wolves.
New Year’s Eve soccer in the Championship ended in almost all the matches terminating in a draw with the exception of struggling QPR who went to the Molineux and came out with all three points after a series of six straight defeats.
All the action took place in the second half when on the 53′ Sylla put the visitors ahead but 8′ later Wolves grabbed the equalizer through Edwards.
But with 3′ still to go Wszolek with a low-footed shot found the bottom corner of the net to give QPR three important points which lifted them 5 points clear from third bottom placed Blackburn.
Meantime Blackburn seemed to be collect all three points after Graham put them ahead in the 81′ away against highly rated Huddersfield Town but Wells got the equalizer in added time.
Another goal spree draw occurred between Barnsley and Birmingham where the home side went 2-0 ahead with goals from Bradshaw and Winnall in the first 45′. Preston and Sheffield Wednesday ended in a 1-1 draw whereas both Brentford v Norwich and Derby v Wigan ended in a goalless draw.
