Ten-man Huddersfield looses the top of the table with a defeat at Reading. The decisive goal was netted by Beerens just before the break. Rajiv van La Parra was sent off for the Terriers before the half hour mark.
The new leaders are now Norwich City with a 3-1 victory over Burton Albion. Olisson, Murphy and Pinto scored for Norwich whilst Akins was on the score sheet for Burton. Whereas Newcastle United were held to a draw by Aston Villa loosing further points.
Benitez‘s boys went in front with an own goal from Elphick. Tshibola obtained a late equaliser for the Villans.
With a 2-0 win over Barnsley, Brighton goes third on level points with Reading. Murray netted both goals for the home side.
Another good win for Zenga as Wolves defeated 3-1 Brentford to go eight in the table with 15 points. Teixeira and Cavaleiro where on the score sheet for Wolves.
Third win in a row for Garry Monk‘s Leeds United. Chris Wood‘s first-half header earned the Peacocks all three points against Ipswich.
Sheffield Wednesday registered a 2-1 over Nottingham Forest. Whereas Derby County extended their winless run to six as they went down 1-2 to Blackburn Rovers to remain in the bottom three.
Fulham went down heavily at 0-4 home to Bristol City. Whereas Cardiff registered a 2-1 win at Rotherham to leave them second from bottom. Between QPR and Birmingham City it all ended in a 1-1 draw.
On Friday Wigan once again were defeated 1-0 by Preston North End to remain bottom of the table.
