Cagliari held as Crotone regain leadership of the Serie B

Cagliari could only manage a draw as they got surprised by bottom placed Como, as Crotone regain the top of the table with a 2-0 over Cesena. Good wins for Bari, Novara, Ternana, Perugia and Trapani whilst Livorno are still searching for points after suffering their third consecutive deafet at Latina. First points for Spezia who managed to comeback from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Pescara. Goalless draw between Vicenza and Salernitana.

Only in the second minute of added time could Cagliari manage a draw against bottom placed Como who put on a suprising performance at the Sant’Elia. It was Simone Ganz who put Como ahead in the 50’ and after Cagliari were robbed of Sau’s equalizing goal in the 54’ when referee Ros did not see that the ball had gone over the line before being cleared by Ambrosini and having Fossati sent off, Joao Pedro managed to level the score thus avoiding the first defeat at home for the rossoblù.

On Saturday the clash between promotion contenders Crotone and Cesena at the Enzo Scida ended in a 2-0 win for the home side with goals coming in the second 45’ from Budimir and Balasa, earning them the top of the table a point above Cagliari and two above Bari who defeated Ascoli at the San Nicola 3-0 with goals coming from Valiani, Rosina from the penalty spot and Maniero.

Novara now in fourth place registered a 4-1 over Lanciano whereas Pescara lost a great chance to grab all three points when at home with leading 2-0 were held by Spezia who scored the goal which earned them the first points after four consecutive defeats in the dying minutes of the game from a contested penalty by Terzi.

The change in management for Livorno seems to bring no benefits as they went down at Latina 3-1 suffering the third defeat in a row which leaves them now eleveth in the table with 21 points, struggling to regain their winning form. Good wins were registered by Perugia 1-0 over Modena with the second consecutive goal for forward Di Carmine, Ternana 2-1 away at Pro Vercelli and Trapani at home over Avellino 2-1.

Vicenza and Salernitana, Virtus Entella and Brescia ended their games in a goalless draws.
