Inter extended the lead at the top of the table as they won away to Udinese whilst both Napoli and Fiorentina lost points. Napoli drawing at home to Roma and Fioretina losing to Juventus as the bianconeri overtakes Roma in fourth place and are six points adrift from the leaders.
Inter extended their lead to four points at the head of the table at the weekend after winning away at the Friuli Stadium by 4-0, exploiting to the full Udinese defensive blunders as they scored twice through Mauro Icardi and a goal each from Jovetic and a splender from Marcello Brozovic.
Both Napoli and Fiorentina lost points as the partenopei where held in goalless draw at the San Paolo by Roma and a superb show by keeper Szczesny who pulled out some great saves to keep Napoli at bay, whilst the viola lost to Juventus who obtained their sixth win in succession and now lay fourth in the table just six points behind the leaders. Milan continued to disappoint as they could only manage a draw against bottom place Verona at the Meazza San Siro after taking the lead from Carlos Bacca in the 52’ but Luca Toni’s penalty levelled the score. Milan had De Jong dismissed during the course of the game after committing the penalty.
Important win for Palermo who trashed Frosinone 4-1 at La Favorita to obtain three important points to go up in the table with 18 points on level with Udinese. The goals for the rosanero came from Goldaniga, Vasquez, Trajkovski and Gilardino, whereas Sammarco scored Frosinone’s only goal.
Genoa suffered their third consecutive defeat at the hands of Bologna with the decisive goal coming in the 91’ from Rossettini.
