A penalty by Stojan gives Crotone an important win leaving them momentarly a point behind leaders Cagliari, ruining the debut of Spezia’s new manager Mimmo Di Carlo. Important wins for Cesena over Pescara, now fourth in the table and Pro Vercelli away at Salernitana.
An only goal from the penalty spot by Stojan after only 12’ play, gave Crotone an important away win at Spezia of new manager Mimmo Di Carlo. Spezia’s efforts to get back into the game are all summed up in a header by captain Terzi near the end of the first 45’, on which keeper Cordaz pulled out a great save. This success puts Crotone momentarily in second place with 31 points, only a point behind leaders Cagliari. For Spezia this is their fourth consecutive defeat and new manager Mimmo Di Carlo faces quite a job to lift an environment that in 4 matches has slipped towards relegation zone.
Against all predictions Pro Vercelli obtained an important win at Salernitana with two goals coming from striker Mattia Mustacchio. For the home side the usual goal coming from Donnarumma was not enough to save the day. With today’s success the ‘piemontesi’ are now in eight place with 20 points, level on points with Brescia, while Salernitana remains with 15 points mixed up in the relegation zone.
The important clash between Cesena and Pescara at the Dino Manuzzi, both level on 24 points, went to the home side with the decisive goal coming through Ragusa’s header at the 12’, his first in two months. Pescara tried to get back in the game but they were never managed to be dangerous before Gomis’ goal. On the other hand Cesena on various occassions went near to double the score. With this success the ‘romagnioli’ goes fourth in the table with 27 points, while the ‘abruzzesi’ remain fifth.
