Tottenham survived Wycombe scare to make it to the fifth round with a gaol in injury time. Oxford Utd. and Lincoln City are the competition giant killers.
Premiership side Tottenham survived League Two side Wycombe Wanderers scare with a 97′ goal from Son Heung-min to just make it to the fifth round.
Paul Hayes gave the Chairboys a 2-0 lead in the 26′ and from the spot in the 36′.
But a one-two from Son Heung–min and Janssen from the penalty spot put Spurs on level.
Ainsworth‘s boys did not loose their heads as substitute Thompson gave them the lead again with just 7′ to go.
But it was Tottenham man of the moment Delle Alli who put the home side on level terms again before Heug-min goal awoke Wycombe from their dream of glory.
This year’s Competition giant killers are surely non–league Lincoln City who came from behind to defeat Championship leaders Brighton 3-1. Goals from Power, Tomori and Robinson made club history for the Imps.
Likewise could be said of League One Oxford United who defeated 3-0, Championship highly quoted Newcastle with goals from Hemmings, Nelson and Martinez Lopez.
Other matches in this fourth round saw all the big teams make it to the fifth round with big wins. Chelsea defeated Brentford 4-0 at Stamford Bridge whereas Manchester City cruised past poor Crystal Palace with a comfortable 4-0.
Arsenal heroes at Southampton were Welbeck who scored twice and Walcott who got a hat-trick for a 5-0 win, whilst Premiership clubs Burnley and Middlesbrough both obtained a place in the fifth round with wins over Bristol City (2-0) and Accrington (1-0) respectively.
Finally both Blackburn Rovers who defeated Blackpool 2-0 at home and Huddersfield with a 4-0 away win at Rochdale obtained a place in the next round.
