Huddersfield obtained their fifth win of the season defeating Leeds 0-1 at Elland Road with a goal from Mooy in the 55′.
With this win the Terriers are now four points clear from second placed Newcastle who obtained a 2-0 victory over Derby at Pride Park. Gouffran and Yedlin scored for Benitez‘s team.
Level on 12 points with the Magpies, Barnsley who obtained a 2-1 away win at Preston North End with goals from Winnall and Armstrong whereas McGeady pulled one back for the hosts.
Fourth placed Birmingham obtained a precious away win at Fulham, 0-1, with the important goal coming from the penalty spot through Donaldson who earlier missed another one.
On same points with Birmingham and Fulham, Norwich who won 3-2 in a thrilling match against Cardiff City. Jerome, Martin and Murphy scored for the Canaries whilst Pilkington netted twice for the Bluebirds.
Elsewhere Wolves could only manage a 1-1 draw at home against Burton Albion, whereas QPR and Blackburn finished their match with the same result whilst Rotherham United and Bristol City ended their encounter with a 2-2 draw.
Finally wins for Brentford 2-0 away at Brighton and Sheffield Wed. home win 2-1 over Wigan.
