Wolves hit Newcastle twice as Huddersfield continue to lead

An outstanding Wolves performance at Newcastle, gave Benitez side a big setback in their bid to overcome Huddersfield at the top of the table.

Meantime Huddersfield after being defeated in mid-week by Brighton, recovered well to beat QPR 2-1 with goals coming from Palmer and Kahunga. Sylla scored QPR only goal.

The Terriers continue to head the table with 19 points, two more then second placed Norwich winners at the City Ground against Nottingham 2-1 after missing a penalty and coming from behind in the second 45′ with goals from Howson and Dorrans who replied to Vellios strike before half-time.

Elsewhere Barnsley after missing a penalty were defeated at home by Reading 1-2 whereas Birmingham with the same result come out winners at home against Sheffield Wed..

Other results in Day 8 of the Championship saw Blackburn Rovers coming from a goal down to beat fellow strugglers Rotherham 4-2 and leave last place to Cardiff who went down at home to a revived Leeds side 0-2.

Brentford trashed 5-0 at home Preston as Brighton after defeating leaders Huddersfield in mid-week continued in their winning form to beat Burton 0-1 at the Pirelli Stadium. Whereas Bristol City and Derby finished their game in a 1-1 draw and both Ipswich vs Aston Villa and Wigan vs Fulham ended their 90′ in a goalless draw
